The Shanghai visual art exhibition will include illustration and design pieces from 3 Nordic artists: Denmark’s creative duo Hvass&Hannibal, Swedish Indie label Hapna’s designer Klas Augustsson and Finnish illustrator Jan Anderzen. In partnership with eno, limited edition T-shirts designed by Nan Na and Jan Anderzen will be launched at NOTCH08 and featured at eno’s flagship store. Nan Na is half Chinese half Danish. The whimsically interesting graphics and rich colors in their work remind one of H.C. Andersen's fairy tales. The duo started to design album covers for Efterklang while they are still studying in the design school. Their work is featured in the design magazines such as IDN and Print. Efterklang will play live on Oct. 3, 2008 @ 669 Greenhouse, Shanghai Klas Augustsson set up Häpna with Johan Berthling in Sweden in 1999. Klas Augustsson has an educational background in physics and astronomy. As a co-owner of the label, he handles almost all designs for Häpna. Tape (from Häpna) will play live on Oct. 3, 2008 @ 669 Greenhouse, Shanghai Jan Anderzen is the mastermind behind the Finnish group Kemialliset Ystävät and also serves as the illustrator and designer for the group. Kemialliset Ystävät’s music is psychedelic with folk and religious influences. Contrary to his "extreme and noisy" music, his illustration work evokes peaceful and traditional Finnish flavor. Anderzen is now studying visual art in Tampere, Finland and runs his own label Vauva Records, at the same time editing a fanzine called Hindupyöräilijä.
